We are not a personality driven organization. We focus on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. With the help of our tireless volunteers, we organize worship services, times of just prayer, and in-depth bible training sessions.
Once a place of intercessory prayer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Upper Room sat closed and dormant for many, many years. Then in December of 2010 this magnificent facility reopened to fulfill its original intended purpose, "a place of prayer and worship".
The Upper Room, once the centerpiece of the former Heritage USA complex, has been reopened. Now known as the Upper Room Chapel. The building is a replica of the original Upper Room in Jerusalem, Israel. Painstakingly built to specifications, it is about as close to the real thing as one could imagine. A beautiful place of prayer, where anyone is welcome to come and stop and pray or walk the grounds and meditate along the Walk of Faith, a winding sidewalk though this tranquil wooded spot with inlaid scriptures on red granite markers.
The Upper Room Chapel sits at the heart of The Upper Room’s international headquarters located in Nashville, Tennessee. Since the chapel’s opening in April 1953 it has hosted millions of visitors. The chapel was built as a sacred space for prayer and worship, open to all. It features two primary art installations made especially for the chapel, each depicting holy moments that occurred in the biblical upper room: Jesus’ last supper with the disciples and the arrival of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. These two events, sitting prayerfully with Jesus and going out into the world to share God’s love, have long provided the framework for the mission and spiritual vision of The Upper Room.The chapel also includes a high pulpit with winding staircase, a beautiful carved wooden chancel gate and rail, and a small prayer room called “Alone with God.”
